The repairs

It can be done. Almost always.

A well-executed repair is not seen: it is heard. Our work is to return an instrument that functions, sounds as good as before and — where possible — shows no scars.

Frets and fretboards

This is the most frequent job in our workshop: complete fret replacement using materials and dimensions chosen for the instrument, levelling with recrowning and polishing, and restoration of worn fretboards. Frets that are worn or not properly seated do more than make playing difficult: they compromise intonation and tone.

Every fret job ends with a final set-up, so the instrument returns ready to play, like new.

Breakages and hardware

Broken headstocks, detached fretboards, nuts, faulty electronics and hardware: in more than twenty-five years, we have seen — and solved — it all, even on instruments of great value, where every intervention calls for technical experience and knowledge of the components.

How it works

Make an appointment and bring the instrument to Via Corsico 8/a during opening hours, or contact us first to describe the problem. We will examine it, explain what is needed and give you a clear quote before starting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Repairs: what we are asked for most often.

Do you perform a complete refret?
Yes, it is one of our most frequent services: removal of the old frets, fretboard preparation, new frets of your choice, leveling with crowning and polishing, and a final set-up.
Do you repair instruments of any brand?
Yes: the workshop is open to electric guitars and basses from any manufacturer, from big brands to custom-made instruments.
Do you also handle acoustic or classical instruments?
No, we specialize exclusively in electric instruments: guitars and basses.
How much does a repair cost?
It depends on the repair and the condition of the instrument: for the sake of accuracy, we only provide a quote after seeing it. The assessment is non-binding.
